Yuletide Wishes
Not sure if I’ll get back to blogging before Christmas or how many of you will be around between now and then to read so I want to say Merry Christmas to all of you.

Biting Back
The Teen: I was just being sarcastic
The Exasperated Mother: I know. Sarcasm is mean.
The Teen: But it was a joke
The Exasperated Mother: I understand that but sarcasm is a mean form of humor
The Teen: But I didn't mean to be mean, I was just joking
The Exasperated Mother: Then you shouldn't use sarcasm. Sarcasm is a form of humor meant to convey insults or scorn. It's mean and definitely not appropriate when talking to your parents
The Teen: Geez, it was just a joke, Mom.
The Exasperated Mother: *sigh* Don't be sarcastic with your parents or teachers. It's impolite and disrespectful and not funny to us and it will only get you in trouble.
The Teen: Okayyyyyyy. But it was just a joke...
Just like I had to bite him back when he was two so he understood how it felt, I'll have to start being sarcastic with him so he - possibly - gets it.

It’s snowing again.
Not supposed to be as much this time but it is going to bump us up to the second snowiest December in Wisconsin history.

Comfort Food
Decent coffee and ugly mugs to put it in.
Some candles and tarts to scent up my world.
Bubbles or salts or oils for my bath.
Full cupboards.
A decent book to read.
A few nice pens and some pretty paper on my desk.

I did get a Christmas tree up and some cheery decorations - which helps.
